IEUA-QNT members can now access working from home resources
IEUA-QNT members now have access to resources for both teachers and school officers on working from home.
The resources have been created as Queensland schools and kindergartens go into student free mode from Monday, 30 March while Northern Territory schools are still open and will go student free from Monday, 6 April.
Members should have received these on Monday, 30 March via email.
Student free time essential for protection and preparation
This student free time is essential for teachers and support staff to prepare schools and develop remote learning modules and resources where this has not already occurred.
While schools and kindergartens will not be open for students generally, there is provision for some students, for example students with special needs or students who are children of required workers in required workplaces, to attend the school site for supervision purposes.
School staff will generally need to be in attendance for the remainder of the school term, however vulnerable employees should be provided with alternative work arrangements.
Mental health support crucial
The COVID-19 pandemic is causing stress and anxiety for many people.
In addition to support available through our union, members should seek help if they are in need – avenues for mental health support are detailed here.
