Creche & Kindergarten collective bargaining update

C&K collective bargaining continues, with our union having now confirmed, in principle, a 12-month agreement which would provide wage increases on the 1 July 2019 & 1 July 2020.kindergarten_web_qual.png

Consultation conducted in March this year identified that members were happy to consider the shorter 12-month agreement, retaining existing conditions on the basis of appropriate wage increases.

Maintaining wages for teachers that are comparable with rates received in state schools and Catholic schools remains a key priority for members.

Our union has proposed that from 1 July 2020, the wage rates as well as band and step structure, be the same as those applying to state school teachers, with non-teaching staff also receiving comparable increases.

However, C&K have only proposed a 2% wage increase in each year.

A further meeting with C&K is scheduled for the 24 July 2019 to discuss the respective wage proposals and further advice will be sent to members following the meeting.

Our union encourages members with any queries in the interim to contact their union organiser or the office on FREECALL  1800 177 938 or email enquiries@qieu.asn.au
