Catholic Middle Leader Review

Profession_web.pngIn accordance with the process endorsed by members, negotiations continue with Catholic employing authorities to address concerns around middle leader classification and wage issues.

Members will recall that the middle leader negotiations were sought by our union due to outcomes from the Teacher Classification Review. These outcomes include the introduction of a top classroom teacher salary of (near) $101,000 as well as Highly Accomplished Teacher and Lead Teacher provisions from 1 July 2018.

The employers have yet to recognise that middle leaders should receive appropriate recognition and remuneration for their role as a teacher and for their work and contribution in a leadership position

The role of middle leaders in Catholic schools is diminished unless their work and contribution as a teacher and as a middle leader is recognised and remunerated.
