Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood Education

On behalf of employees we have sought either a 4% wage increase for each of the three years of the proposed agreement, or a commitment to match the wage rates which will apply in Lutheran schools.

The employer has, in earlier negotiations, offered a wage increase of only 2.5%.

At our meeting on 22 August the employer specifically rejected a commitment to comparability to Lutheran schools.

he employer stated that it could not commit to an unknown outcome.QLECS has identified that the cost of operating community kindergartens will increase as a result of changes required by government.

Whilst the inadequacy of the new Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme is well recognised, the cost of the new scheme should not be imposed on employees by way of inadequate wage rates.
