Outdoor education agreement on the horizon

Following the sale of Edmund Park, an outdoor education centre that was previously owned by St Edmunds College in Ipswich, IEUA-QNT is ensuring members employed at the facility retain the entitlements outlined by their collective agreements until a new agreement specific to their roles is negotiated.

The sale, which went through at the end of last year, saw the facility change hands and is now owned by a private enterprise.

IEUA-QNT organiser Craig Darlington said our union had been working with members over the last few months to ensure their jobs, and all entitlements were transferred to the new employer.

“Members at the facility are currently still covered by the conditions of the Catholic  Religious Institute Schools Collective Agreement 2010 and this will remain the case while we work with the employer, members and staff to develop and negotiate a new agreement exclusive to the outdoor education facility,” Mr Darlington said.

For further information, please contact IEUA-QNT organisers Greg McGhie or Craig Darlington on 07 3839-7020.
