Graduate Teachers Attend BCE Induction

Rachel Smith from St Augustine's, Meg Reminis from St Joseph's Nambour and Chloe O'Reilly from St Augustine's speak with IEUA-QNT Organiser Nicole Carlill

Graduate Teachers who have commenced employment with Catholic Education attended an employer induction program held Friday 10 February.

The induction program was an opportunity to offer important information and support to these new teachers as they embark on their careers in education.

Our union also attended the event to discuss with graduate teachers the importance of union membership and joining their industry collective.

Our union welcomed 79 new members and 15 existing financial members who were present on the day.

IEUA-QNT Growth Organiser Caryl Davies said that it is vital to attract and retain graduate teachers to our union.

“Graduate teachers are integral to the collective strength of our union,” she said.

“Membership of our union also gives them access to legal protection and individual support which is so important for employees in the education sector.”

“Our union looks forward to working with and supporting these new members.”
