Art Design Awards and Literary Competition
Our union's annual Awards for Excellence in Art Design and Literary Competition help to recognise the talents of Queensland and Northern Territory students and teachers.

The theme for the 2017 Art Design Awards is Seasons in Australia, drawing inspiration from the Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, "Each moment of the year has its own beauty".
The Art Design Awards are open to preschool, primary and secondary school students and teachers in independent schools throughout Queensland and the Northern Territory.
In 2017, our union has established a new category, Indigenous Art Years 5-12. The theme of Seasons in Australia also acknowledges that European notions of Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter are insufficient to describe the range of different seasons in our country — something that has been experienced and understood by Indigenous Australians for thousands of years.
The Literary Competition invites Queensland and Northern Territory students and teachers to share their literary prowess by submitting either poetry, short stories or non-fiction prose.
This year, our union is pleased to announce the introduction of Year 5 into the Section D category.
The competition is now open to entrants from Years 5-12 students as well as teachers in Queensland state and independent schools and Northern Territory independent schools.
