Be Active and Protect Your Current WH&S Rights

In January 2012, new Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) provisions were implemented. While there were many changes, some of which are positive, some will put at risk existing workplace health and safety rights for members.

Many of the impacts are technical in nature and your union will continue to monitor these changes and act appropriately to protect the interests of IEUA-QNT members.

However, members can take on two key actions to protect their working rights by ensuring their workplace has an elected WH&S representative and an active WH&S Committee.

Members are now asked to ensure that a WH&S Representative is elected in their workplace, if not already done so, and that a functioning and effective WH&S Committee operates in their workplace.
