Positions of Added Responsibility
A Position of Added Responsibility (PAR) schedule for Queensland Catholic schools was first established around twenty years ago.
Twenty years ago PAR positions were envisaged as task orientated roles. Now there is an increasing understanding that there needs to be a greater emphasis on leadership.
Over the last twenty years a number of band aids have been applied to the schedule, but it is, after that length of time, due for a major examination.
A Joint Working Party comprised of employee and employer representatives has now completed an interim report for consultation that makes recommendations for a contemporary PAR structure.
The final report will be released by 31 October 2011.
