Professional Standards for Teachers

Ministers have released the National Professional Standards for Teachers.

The National Professional Standards for Teachers were finalised by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) and endorsed by MCEECDYA in late December 2010.

The Standards make explicit what teachers should know and be able to do across four career stages - graduate, proficient, highly accomplished and lead teacher - and across the three domains of professional knowledge, practice and engagement.
